The software release lifecycle is a key concept that connects several processes that can be applied prior to releasing a product to the end-user following testing, upgrades and bug fixes. One of the more common and popular approaches to this is Continuous Deployment (CD), which uses automated testing in order to validate whether the changes made to a codebase are correct and stable enough for the immediate autonomous release to a production environment.
As MeDirect has shifted its business towards microservice architecture and cloud-native applications, we started our journey to GitOps as a way of implementing continuous deployment for our products by providing a developer-centric experience when operating infrastructure through the use of tools that developers are familiar with.
